ABOUT US
Tambe Global is a not-for-profit organisation registered in Australia committed to advancing equitable access to high-quality emergency, perioperative, and critical care in low- and middle-income countries. It operates as a technical partner and program delivery agency for Ministries of Health, universities, and multilateral organisations primarily in the Western Pacific.

Our Mission Statement

Tambe Global’s charitable purpose is to improve health outcomes and empower healthcare workers in low-resource settings, particularly in Pacific Island Countries. We achieve this by providing education, resources, equipment, and training in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and other vital clinical, educational, and diagnostic interventions to promote health, prevent disease, and reduce mortality for underserved populations. Our flagship initiative PEARLS (POCUS for Emergency and Acute care in Resource-Limited Settings) has been a global success which we aim to use as a springboard to further efforts in bringing POCUS to everyone.

Tambe - To Lift Up

Ni-Vanuatu rural medicine specialist Dr Lawrence Boe is the sole doctor on his home island of Ambae, 300km north of Vanuatu's capital city Port Vila. Dr Boe was a participant on our first-ever PEARLS ultrasound course, and has grown into one of our core PEARLS faculty members.
'Tambe' in Dr Boe's native tribal language means 'to lift up' - a perfect description of the ultrasound training programs we conduct. And our vision is that clinicians worldwide have access to life-changing technology such as point-of-care ultrasound to enhance the care they provide for patients. So there you have it - Tambe Global.
